Introduction | Indiscipline is the inability to live in accordance to the set rules and regulations that have been set in society. The concept of indiscipline can be analysed for the perspective of indiscipline in schools. Students’ indiscipline consists in an unwillingness to put forth such efforts, an unwillingness which consequently results in the failure to achieve the objective chosen. Strikes, indiscipline and unhappy incidents in schools, colleges and universities have become the regular features of the present educational system. Now -a- days cheating in examinations by insisting on copying, fighting against each other, bullying others and indirectly insulting teachers are some of the in disciplinary actions which the so-called "Extraordinary Students ”demonstrate in the class. Students’ indiscipline is one of the burning problems faced by modern India. The indiscipline among the students is on the increase. It has become one of the serious problems being faced by the country. They go on violence, cheating in the examinations, insult their teachers, tear away pages from library books, write dirty things on the wall etc. They clash with the police, through stones and brickbats at them.
Level of Indiscipline: The problems of indiscipline are seen at two levels- narrow level and wider level. At the narrow level, indiscipline is seen in the form of making noises, thumping desks, throwing paper darts, imitating the sound of birds and animals. The wider level of indiscipline is seen in the form of strikes and demonstrations which sometimes turn violent and lead to stone -throwing, damaging property and violent classes. Student’s teachers and invigilators are manhandled or even assaulted. Such indiscipline disrupts academic life and the atmosphere in the temples of learning. Indiscipline in school includes the following behaviour of a student: a) Disobedience to teachers and school's rules and regulations. b) Stealing other students’ property. c) Staying in hostel during class. d) Wearing of unauthorised dress. e) Maltreatment of junior students. f) Smoking. g) Alcohol Consumption. h) During Consumption. i) Involvement in secret cult activities. j) Malpractices in examination. k) Unauthorised exit from school or truancy. Lack of employment opportunity. 4. Political involvement. 5. Working parents. 6. Defective examination system. 7. Absence of teacher student relationship. 8. Defective system of education. 9.
