Abstract |
Water is the one of abundantly available substance in nature. It is an essential constituents of all animal and vegetable matters and founds about 75% of matter of earth crust. It is also an essential ingredient of animal of plant life. Water is distributed in nature, in different forms such as rain water, river water, mineral water, spring water, water from springs contains dissolved sulphur compounds, such water is helpful in the care of some skin disease.

Introduction |
The estimated total amount of water is 1.33x1024kg which is about 5% of the total mass of the earth. About of 80% of earth 33400km3 water is available for drinking, agriculture, domestic and industrial uses. Rest of water is ocean as salt water polar ice caps glaciers and ground water.
The system under study:-The present study is aim to investigate the main factor responsible for water pollution in river. The uncontrollable pollution source includes the urban wastes, introduce in the streams during rainy seasons. The stream water carries quantities of organic from decaying flora and fauna and inorganic salts from soil erosion. Low PH and low DO which may result heavy fish killed excessive aquatic growth that die and decomposed significantly and thus added the organic pollution load and deplete dissolved oxygen.
Topography:- in its appearance in the district present diverse features and topographically may be divided into several distinct tract. Though with the spread and cultivation the dissimilarly occurs. Uplands being varied by slide undulation which are scarcely perceptible in most places through the south, the rinse well defined ridges and low land hill in addition in the division Khadar and Banger.
Temperature:
A meteorological observation had been setup at recently the description which follows is based on the records of a observatory neighboring district also have similar climatic conditions. The temperature drops rapidly after October, January is generally the coldest month.
Humidity:
Humidity is generally found higher during the south west monsoon after this humidifies decreases gradually . The driest part of the year is the summer season generally below the 30% in the afternoon.
Cloudiness:
The sky is generally heavily clouded or overcast during the south west monsoon seasons during the rest of the year the sky mostly clear or lightly clouded.

Objective of study | Present study is aimed investigating the chief causative factors responsible for creating deterioration in water quality of rivers .Water as a natural indispensable source is a gift of nature and is painful to observe that industries are acting as villains and posing a threat of assault in the environment which was dominating role in sustenance of life. |

Review of Literature | The
study is at investigation the chief causative factors responsible for creating
deterioration in water quality of rivers Khakra and Deoha at Pilibhit District.
The
study of the river stretch uncontrolled and untreated discharge of industrial
and domestic effluents. It is therefore desirable to monitor the Pollution
level. Such studies deserve merit since we can plan remedial measures after
revealing the potent sources of pollution in water. |

Result and Discussion |
The result of physiochemical analysis of
water samples of river are presented in the given table-
W=winter (Nov.-feb.) S= summer(March-June) R= rainy (July-Oct.) S.D =
standard deviation (Mean = + S.D) |

Conclusion |
The present study ,attempted to highlight the main causative factors of pollution of rivers and to access the degree of pollution in rivers. The study may prove useful for pollution biology and can be complained usefully managing and restoring many damaged ecosystems. The data obtained from the study will also provide the basic guidelines for treatment of rivers and other water bodies. |
