Academic knowledge has often been regarded as primary driver of child’s development, but art is alternatively a wonderful medium to track & record the progress of your child’s growth.Development and progress of artistic faculties in a child improves with age as does the writing & reading skills.
Parents and teachers can independently open children to a diverse material to work on and create art. Schooling & education is not simplyexposingchildren to information and learning, but it is also the development of the child’s inherentabilities from within.

Introduction |
Study after study over last few decades have revealed that arts education &participation have great significance in development and have been linked with improved cognitive, social, and behavioral outcomes in individuals across the lifespan: in early childhood, in adolescence and young adulthood, and in later years
Human development is defined as the process of enlarging people's freedoms and opportunities and improving their well-being.Collectively, these factors bring forth cognitive and behavioral consequences & improvements that can shape the social and economic circumstances of individuals, their degrees of creativity and productivity, and overall quality of life.
The Dynamiccurrentenvironment is also a witness to changes in creative arts. The field of creativeeducation is also undergoing dramatic changes. The role of education in contemporaryworld, is not just to impart knowledge to the students, but concurrently to awaken their interest in their environs and realisation of developments, and to encourage their appreciation of and ability for endless learning. Practical & creative educators shouldn’t just focus on being one way communicators to impart education but rather ensure conducive environment for creative exchanges.
The requisite quality ofwell nuanced educator is that he should encourage mutual exchanges of communication between him and his students and participation in joint activities. The advent of electronic & visual medium, computers, voice and visual recordings, television, radio& internet and all other varieties of tutoring devices have necessitated drastic modifications in conventionaltechniques of education and training.

Objective of study | Creative art is a extremely fairapproach to develop & enhance children’s problem-solving abilities and ability to choose alternatives.Creative art at eachstageentails decision making, deciding the choice of color, deciding size, deciding on outlines etc. Every choice is individual choice and reflects one’s individuality. Art is a world of infinite possibilities which knows no boundaries and it is left to ones imagination and reflections to create something. Art encourages children to create from their imagination thus help creating a visual manifestation of abstract ideas. Art is such a medium which enables expression of creative outlet even for those children who might not be very comfortable otherwise with the academic school curriculum. History is replete with instances of artists who were otherwise not academically very good but were brilliant artists, when they took up a brush. |

Review of Literature | According to Piaget (1962), young
children’s cognition is fostered through exploration and participation in play
activities, especially imaginative play, within their environments. Vygotsky
(1930/2004) theorized the relationship between creativity and imagination. In
addition, children build social skills when they experiment with creative arts
like puppetry, creative movement, music, and dance in dramatic play scenarios
(Ginsburg 2007). The role of art in education is undebatable.
Creativity in education is an important component of any child’s development
because it teaches teamwork, analytic, and creativity. |

Analysis | Creative art is a tool for communicating
ideas, feelings, and results in a way, which is visual and beautiful in its
expressions. Arts as a medium of education encouragesand enhances the wholistic
development of child. It prepares the child for life ahead and enables him to
see the life from a different perspective, to see life filled with
opportunities for learning and joy. Art extends innumerable progressive
advantages to children both intrinsically as well as extrinsically. It provides
prospects to develop creativity, imagination, and curiosity. To experience pleasure,
splendor, and beauty.Art also offersopportunities for development &
effective articulatingof feelings, thoughts &knowledge. It makes a child a
better communicator. Extrinsically art contributes
to improvedcommitment to learning, development of self-consciousness &confidence
in one’s ability. It also enhances cognitive abilities, interpersonal &
social skills. Being an integral part of educational curriculum art nurtures
the necessary & wholistic skill sets & mindsets, which are requisite in
today’s life. Education should have a
wholistic approach which not only prepares students for the life ahead but also
to engage students inpresent-day.It is intrinsic that the child is engaged
throughconversation, inquiry, creation, and artistic expression. A child can
develop and discover the world around him through play, through movement, and
imagination. It is through such artistic indulgences that the instinct for
investigation and growth can develop in a child.
In my observation, education is not merely imparting knowledge and
information, but it is the development of the child’s natural powers and
abilities from within. As being fine art teacher I believed that Art is a sort
of liberation and total freedom which is important for a creative expression is
directly related to the amount of freedom you get and give which I applied in
teaching, I never believed in being methodical in teaching rather lets my
students enjoy a great deal of freedom and leverage. As I often believed that
students were inquisitive by nature and full of doubts. According to me the
real role of education is to clear those doubts. The teacher should not be
assertive but rather indulgent with his students and should allow his students
a great deal of freedom; Freedom to think, freedom to learn, and freedom to
express. Education for me was not theoretical reading but the real education is
anything which you remember, recollect or register and know its correct usage
in life. |
||||||
Conclusion |
Author's aim and philosophy of teaching is to provide quality fine art education with the objective of providing knowledge of creative expression and its application to students by giving a platform for them for pursing talent in their particular field and intersect.According to me teaching is a learning process and as a teacher I keep myself accessible to my students with an open mind and a welcoming attitude. Many new discoveries and developments have come in the meantime which need to be incorporated and the entire methodology of art historical teaching and research should be re-constituted in that light. |
