The increase in global market revenues is also attributed to the rising demand for drugs. The discharge of pharmaceuticals and their metabolites into the environment, including water, also rises as a result of their improper management, treatment, and disposal; this fact is now acknowledged on a global scale as an environmental concern and a risk to human health. As a result, this market positivism is clouded.
