Abstract |
Emerging India is at the cross road of globalization & old cultural heritage in all walks of life, particularly in the fashion technology. In the past two decades, the emerging global trends, the adaptability of new clothing styles, and the easy availability of branded fashion products have contributed immensely to the development of the Indian Fashion Industry. Breaking old taboos and embracing R & D approach towards fashion technology have given a remarkable lift to the Indian Fashion market. Globalization has increased cut through competition in the Indian market between the foreign companies and domestic companies. In today’s world people take fashion very seriously sensibly. It’s an aesthetic expression which has covered every aspect of human culture. Globalization keeps the people informed and updated on each and every new trend in the fashion industry through old and new media like air radio, television, newspaper, Internet and mobile phones etc.
The modern communication system like Internet platform has enabled the development and expansion of new technological innovations in the industry which has increased the effectiveness of production in all the nations. With the rapid rate of globalization, tremendous artistic and scientific knowledge with R & D approach has emerged that have collectively evolved into standard curriculum for the university students. Fiber treatment & blending customized designing smart textiles, ecotextile designing are few scientific approach in the field of fashion design targeted towards comfortable human life styles. The present article deals with the different aspects of current developments over the last few decades in emerging vis-à-vis developing India under the impact of globalization.

Globalization is providing new Panorama meaning of dressing up well. Enriching the cultural heritage of India development of foreign trades fusion dance indo Western style in apparel are blooming these days. Indian growing technological advancement is opening doors for newer and diversified trends in wardrobe. Indian fashion industry is improving continuous with perfection and accelerated by mainly two aspects choice of customer and globalization of Indian economy Indian fashion industry is appealing to Western pattern of dressing with natural and folk designs. They are adopting Western designs and adding their own style statement to it, are giving the extensive scale of fashion globalization. Exchange of ideas and information regarding the availability of textile fabrics and production has also resulted in a rise in the demand for products.

has increased competition in the Indian market. To stand out in this
competition Indian designers have played very important role. Immense
creativity of our fashion stalwarts like Ritu Beri, Ritu Kumar, Anita Dongre
& Manish Malhotra are those who influenced fashion market trend by their
style statements. The folk prints from India have rampaged across the global
market with acceptance and appearance. Today Indian fashion
designs have made international market. 1.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Danielle Steel etc. 2.
Manish Malhotra has designed for Michael
Jackson, Jean Claude Van Damme, Reese Witherspoon, Kylie Minogue. 3.

Naomi Campbell, Elizabeth Hurley. Oprah Winfrey. 4.

called Ana Mike Botho in the U.K. Foreigners are
interested in Indian traditional and culture. A culture is a commixture of
fashion, trends, behaviors, conduct and practices that people tend to follow
and represent. Indian culture is one of the oldest established cultures which
possess a great heritage & values and traditions. It’s a versatile and it
has always given a new vision and dimensions to the world to look towards India. Globalization
of Indian Fashion Trends: The emerging global
trends, the adaptability of new clothing styles and the easy availability of
branded fashion products have contributed immensely to the development of

has viewed India as a fashion destination mainly for its traditional garments.
India is promoting traditional garments and also developing functional wear,
manufacturing green textile and reducing uses of toxic chemicals for garment
making. Designers are adopting the eco friendly way for the global market and
trying to create a market for “fashion with a cause”. Emerging Indian fashion
trends are returning towards nature. Organic cottons are popular these days.
Moving to another level of technology and fashion designing are using natural
resources. Adaptation of handicrafts for everyday needs and making
products more better are provide to large market to our textile & fashion
industry. Internet plays an important role to showcase the art work to the world.
Indian textile industry is trending towards handloom sectors, khadi, cotton
& silk are the most demanding fabrics these days. According to my market
research work and study of fashion trends, Indian women kept a lot of their
traditional sensibilities alive with beautiful mix of both Indian and western

three main segments of this industry. The country has the wide range of cotton
fiber and has rapidly developing synthetic fiber industry. Over the years India
has achieved significant quantitative increases in cotton production. Textile & Fashion
Statistics Current size of the Indian textile and
fashion industry is worth INR 1,000 crore, while the market size is
approximated to be INR 20,000 crore. However India textile & fashion
accounts for a Meager 0.2% in the world markets, but this is expected as Indian
textile has just rolled over from infancy to the growth stage. The signs are
everywhere- Growing number of designers, boutiques and outlets, design schools
and customers are increasing day by day. Indian fashion and textile industries

strong macroeconomic tail winds & its GDP is predicted to grow 8% a year
between 2018 to 2022. India’s middle class is forecast to expand by 1.4% a year

attractive consumer markets outside the western world. Of many emerging markets India’s GDP is expected to grow at the highest rate. According to data from Mc.Keinsey’s fashion scopes real GDP compound annual growth rate 2018-2022 forecast is 8%. Government of India has initiated many schemes for textile industry such as the technical upgradation fund scheme; which provides low interest loans for technology upgradation. One more scheme for industries is excise duty scheme. Government has also imposed FDI policy. Foreign Direct Investment policy has been set up by Ministry of Textiles. It has objectives such as providing assistance and advisory support, assisting foreign companion in funding out joint. Venture partners, maintenance and monitoring of data. It has strong domestic consumption as well as export demands. Technical textiles are rapidly making their presence in various sectors of fashion and textile industry. Government bodies are also providing assistance to this sector. Indian fashion trends are booming day by day with the existence of cultural industry mart fabrics and comfortable cloth styles are high in demand. Globalization has transformed Indian life style. Consumerism has now become an Indian value and the new Indian middle class is making its voice heard everywhere.
